Conversations
Conversations is a series of happenings, feasts, presentations and dialogue, bringing people together to ask questions, debate, share ideas, places and perspectives.
Two Conversations are coming up in May:
Storm in a Tea Cup will be a gentle gathering of people, organisations and businesses working, playing and being inspired by Torbay’s wonderful seas.
Led by artist Shelley Castle, wild swimmers, sea kayakers, conservationists, and ‘conversationists’ The Fisherman’s Mission, Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, fishermen and historians will come together over high tea to share their passions and experiences. They will discuss what the future holds for marine ecology in Torbay and how to help support marine life now and in the future.
The event takes place from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday 12 May at Brixham Laboratory. More information and booking details are on the Exeview website.
At A Marriage, Broken Spectacles invite us into the kitchen preparations of Cupid’s wedding feast. Help to prepare the food, watch the story unfold and hear the characters’ intimate thoughts on love. This classic European story is told through a mixture of languages, music and food, to celebrate domestic culture and explore the nature of multi-cultural relationships.
The event takes place at Lupton House, Brixham. More information and booking details are available on the Eyeview website.
Future Conversations include a discussion about the relationship between Torbay’s rich geology and its terracotta industry, and a gathering to reflect on the places we live in and how we keep our individual and collective spirits in good order.
