This Place Is Changing - Torbay's Great Place Scheme
Recently we published the evaluation of Torbay’s Great Place Scheme. This new film complements that report, and illustrates the three and half years of work and energy that went in to making Torbay’s Scheme so memorable. Torbay Culture’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people, through culture, creativity, and heritage, and the Torbay Scheme has made a big difference.
Almost 58,000 people were involved - over 53,000 through cultural programming and creative projects. Residents also participated in culture, health and wellbeing programmes; community consultations so that they could have their voice heard in the decisions being made to improve our towns; and they participated in skills development opportunities. Torbay’s Scheme supported the research and development of a vision for cultural tourism, and devised new products on which to implement this. And we underpinned all this with analysis and evaluation so that we and our partners can share the learning, and build on this for the future.
